More Rob Dior…

A few reporters have written a few things about the commercial so far…

From Dior’s website

Last night, in Los Angeles, Dior revealed the new face of its leading men’s perfume, Dior Homme . A heartthrob actor with a dazzling career that parallels the trajectory of the legendary fragrance, who is the man behind the scent?

He’s returned from Australia where he was filming the new David Michod movie with Guy Pierce, The Rover . And will soon kick off shooting David Cronenberg’s Maps to the Stars alongside John Cusack and Julianne Moore. And then it will be the turn of Hold On To Me , from James Marsh. Any ideas? Previously, he was in Cosmopolis and Water For Elephants .

Cinephiles should have already guessed…
And his first role? Cedric Diggory in the fourth installment of the Harry Potter series. Getting warm? And then… Well then, of course, came the unforgettable Twilight saga. There can be no doubt remaining, and you’ve guessed it: Robert Pattinson will embody the new Dior man, the new Dior Homme.

From Instyle

After months of whispers, Dior have broken the silence to confirm that Twilight heartthrob Robert Pattinson will front their men’s fragrance range.

Dior’s fragrance portfolio views like a who’s who of Hollywood – Natalie PortmanCharlize Theron and Jude Law all front their scents, so newest recruit, Rob, is in good company.

The fashion house announced: “Today we are excited to announce that [Robert] will join the privileged circle of Dior faces.”

However, it seems that as yet, UK audience won’t be privy to the campaign shots: “Photographed by American artist Nan Goldin and filmed by French director Romain Gavras, this new Dior Homme communication campaign is currently broadcast exclusively in Europe (except UK) and Asia (except China and Japan).”

Word has it that the shots are Moulin Rouge themed and show Rob in sultry black and white. Let’s hope we can catch a glimpse soon.

PARIS — Parfums Christian Dior has confirmed that actor Robert Pattinson is the new face of Dior Homme fragrance.

The “Twilight” star joins an illustrious list of celebrity ambassadors for Dior fragrances, which include Jude Law, Alain Delon, Natalie Portman and Charlize Theron.

American photographer Nan Goldin and French director Romain Gavras shot the campaigns starring Pattinson, Dior said, noting they are to be broadcast in Europe excluding the U.K. and Asia, excluding China and Japan.

Ooooh, do you smell that? Either someone just set off an olfactory sex bomb…or we’re catching our very first whiff of the delicious, heady aroma of Robert Pattinson‘s first-ever celebrity endorsement deal. And yep, it’s the latter!

Months after rumors surfaced last fall that Rob would become the new face of Dior’s fragrance for men, the company has confirmed (via Women’s Wear Daily) that he is, indeed, the dudely visage which will launch the next Dior Homme campaign.

This is a new thing for Robert, who’s been leery of attaching his famous face to any one brand—but if he were going to break the seal on endorsements, the rumored $12 million he’s getting from Dior is a good place to start. The actor will appear in a series of ads shot by photographer Nan Goldin and director Romain Gavras, which, according to certain people, involve some majorly sexy content and the flagrant use of Rob’s tongue…which is why we’re currently sobbing and rending our shirts over the totally unfair fact that the advertisements are running exclusively overseas. Any folks across the pond want to take pity on us poor, Pattz-less Americans and offer a YouTube link? We’ll trade you in deep-fried foods!

Are you dying for one of Rob’s Dior Homme ads to surface?

Apparently the DiorRob launch event is a three day affair!
